Simmendinger List

Ulrich Simmendinger and his wife had been among those Palatines coming to New York in 1710. IN the year 1717 he returned to Germany and there published a small pamphlet, in which he described the emigration of the Palatines and their life in New York province. He also gave as complete a list as he was able to obtain of all those Palatines who were then living in the Province, including the names of the wives and locating the families in the different towns or "dorfs"
This pamphlet is now very rare. A copy in the New York Public Library is probably the only one in this country. It has been reprinted in pamphlet form by Lou Macwethy at St. Johnsville N.Y. in recent years, and the list of names from the original copy has also been printed in Knittle's book, from which most of the following notes are taken. The names of the localities are not all as Simmendinger gives them, as Knittle has identified the various different towns in the Schoharie region, to which Simmendinger gave names different from those commonly known.
This was published in 1717 by Ulrich Simmendinger. The location of the people named is given by a key:

a. Queensbury
b. Annsbury
c. Hunterstown
d. Haysbury
e. Beckmansland (probably West Camp)
f. Weisersdorf
g. Gerlachsdorf

Schoharie Church Records

(The existing records of the Lutheran and reformed churches at Schoharie begin too late to have pertinent baptism or marriage records of the Tuplehocken people, except of members of the families who were left behind. The death records however do give a great deal of information about the early Palatine settlers there, as many of the original or older settlers stayed there in Schoharie and did not go to Tulpehocken)
