Groff-Eshleman Graveyard


This graveyard is located on Archery Road, turning westerly from 222, just south of New Providence.
This small graveyard sits along the road and is enclosed by a wire fence. The farmer has grazed animals within the fence and those animals have damaged some of the stones.
The graveyard is cared for by the Groff-Eshleman graveyard association. However two of the most active members Walter Groff and Clyde Groff have passed away within the last few years, therefore the current status of the association is in question.

  39. Henry Eshleman-In memory of Henry, son of Elijah and Christiana Eshleman, 2 years, 3 months, and 22 days.(Ellis Bachman, Strasburg undertaker, was employed to remove and relocate the graves for Annie Eshleman, a dau. of Elijah and Christiana)
  40. Martin Eshleman abt 1737-1808 Unknown but believed buried here(Martin and wife Elizabeth and descendants were the subject of 1983 Pennsylvania Mennonite Heritage magazine article.
