Jacob Traeger

Jacob was born abt 1750 and married Maria about 1787. In 1790 Jacob bought a farm from Christopher Winters, Sr. It is on the northwest corner of Jacob's tract that the Mt. Airy graveyard is located. Jacob patented the farm in 1810.
Jacob died before May of 1816 and is likely buried in the graveyard. One of Jacob's executors was son-in-law John Gochenour, husband of Maria. Jacob's inventory was performed May 2, 1816. A running account exists from May 3, 1816, with intermittent entries, and continued until Aug 3, 1839, date of a public auction.
Jacob's widow Maria continued to live on the farm until her death May 15, 1839.

James Passmore

James Passmore was born in 1816 and died abt 1865 or 1866. He was the administrator of the will of Mary, wife of Martin Reese(RP33). Passmore was a schoolteacher and landowner in Providence Township. He bought the Reese farm from the estate of Martin Groff in 1847(Deed Book H, Vol.8, Page 397.
James Passmore also acquired the two adjoining tracts, a configuration that remained the same until relatively recent building lots were sold along Truce and Mt. Airy roads. He bought the old Traeger tract from the administrators of the estate of Ephraim Ressler in 1854. Passmore bought the tract subject to the burying ground, the(Reese-Lines(Mt. Airy Graveyard) graveyard with deeded access to it.

Passmore sold the Reese farm and the added acreage to Joshua Winters in 1857. Joshua bought the property subject to the burying ground, deeded access, and to the continued use of the schoolhouse as such. At such time that the schoolhouse was no longer used, the school could be moved and the land was to revert to the heirs of Joshua Winters.

James Passmore married Frances about 1837. in 1850 John Sides was living with them.(John is possibly a son of Sarah Kuhn, wife of Benjamin Reese). The Passmores in 1860 had Jeremiah Reese, age 21 living with them.(His father Abner Reese drowned in the Susquehanna in 1857
